Blog Merging.

March 29th, 2009

After much hesitation, I’ll be merging both my blogs from today onwards, as I can foresee the difficulties that I’ll be having to update both blogs in the near future. This will be the last post on this blog, and I’ll be importing the archive into My Dog Diary. I will still leave this blog alive for the next few months, but for post updates please do check at My Dog Diary.

Also, do update your links or RSS subscription over there. I’ll take a few days to slowly update everything over there. Hopefully can be done soon. :)

To all my readers, thanks for being with me all these while. I hope to see you at My Dog Diary. :)

And Here Goes The Feng Shui.

March 25th, 2009

So as promised, I’ve checked with my parents about the feng shui practice that I mentioned in the previous post. You’ll need to prepare 2500 pieces of 1 cent coins - or perhaps any bronze coins, place in a clear container with lid - which can be plastic, glass, or any other material, and place the whole thing at the north-west corner of your room.

To determine the north-west corner of your room, stand in the middle of your room, and read your compass.

If you are like me - or anyone, I don’t think you’ll have 2500 pieces of 1 cent coins. :P My parents said it’s OK, as long as there are bronze coins. It is said that this practice will bring you wealth and money. Well, let’s see. :)
Good luck!

My Coin Bank.

March 21st, 2009

As I normally don’t carry coin purse with me, I tend to put all the coins in my pocket and throw them all in a basket or something when I get home. I used to have a few glass bottles to store the coins - one for 10 cents, one for 20 cents, one for 50 cents, and a Vodka bottle for 1 cent and 5 cents. But seriously, I haven’t been ‘updating’ them so much. Once in a while, perhaps.

This afternoon my parents told me about some interesting practice of Feng Shui and I’ve decided to clear my Vodka bottle and separate the 1 cent and the 5 cents. And I have a total of 855 1 cents (equals to RM8.55) and 363 5 cents (equals to RM18.15) after all these years! LOL!

Muffin Business - and Dreams.

March 20th, 2009

So as I was saying, my mum talked me into making a little business out of the muffins that I’ve been making. Cool? Fun? Not so sure now. But luckily I’m still enjoying the process of making muffins. The only thing that I don’t like is… the washing after preparing. Perhaps a dish washer will help… anyone listening? :P
So far we’ve got about 9 of the more commonly accepted and yummy proof - and healthy - flavours ready for the business. Oh when I said business, did I mention that I’m only going to bake 12 muffins a day, and not more than 5 days a week? LOL! That’s really a casual business for me. :D
But my mum and brother (and perhaps me!) have already been dreaming all the way to big muffin business. Owning a shop, serving a wide variety of muffins, and perhaps other yummy treats like scones, and of course coffee. We have also casually appointed the unofficial muffin professional a.k.a darl as our coffee brewer - in dreamland. He makes really nice coffee. :)
Anyway, dream aside. I’m working on the packaging and stuffs and everything should be ready by next week. I hope this can be a really relaxing and casual thing for me coz seriously, I don’t want too much of pressure from something that I truly enjoy.

Homemade muffins… anyone? :)
P/S: I’m considering merging both my blogs (nottypooch.com/mydogdiary) since my identity is no longer a secret (LOL!) and managing 2 blogs can be tedious at times. I’ll announce if I really do merge them up. Till then, happy listening! :)

I’m So In Love with the Facebook Publisher on iPhoto 09!

March 14th, 2009

Or perhaps I should just say that I’m so in love with iPhoto 09. I don’t remember myself enjoying iPhoto so much until today - OK I did enjoy it but wasn’t really like ooo-ahh, that’s all.

When I got my new iMac about a month ago, it was a very busy period for me and all I did with my photo library was transferring, and full stop. When I first launched iPhoto 09, I did notice some of the new features but didn’t bother to look at them much. I even told darl that ‘nah, I’m not going to learn all these, wasting my time nia‘.

A few days back I wanted to publish some photos on my Facebook and remembered about the Facebook publishing feature on iPhoto 09. So I started my experiment and couldn’t get myself away from publishing more photos and albums since then. It was, so easy!

If you are publishing for the first time, you’ll need to set up your Facebook account on iPhoto. I don’t remember exactly how it went but just follow the on-screen instruction will do. And publishing is never easier than this. Go to your Photo Albums, Events, or your Library, and select the photos that you want to publish - perhaps the right way is to create an album first and then publish but I never organise my photos nicely and sometimes I just wanna upload randomly, so this method works better for me.

To select, either command+A (select all), shift+click (to select photos in sequence), or command+click (select photos not in sequence).

After you’ve done selecting, hit the Facebook button at the right bottom of your iPhoto window.

You’ll be asked to make your viewable by Everyone, Friends of Friends, or Only Friends . Select whichever settings you want and hit Publish.

These icons will appear on your sidebar. They are the Facebook albums that you’ve published via iPhoto. The signal icon on the right side means it’s publishing and syncing.

And then you can change the album title, photo title, etc, if you want - which is what I’m doing because obviously I am always too lazy to update my photos, and always leaving the default photo title (eg: DSC00001) in my library. LOL! You may also add photos to the album from time to time. The nice thing is, whatever changes you make on the published albums in iPhoto, it will automatically change on your Facebook. Updating and uploading took me really a very short while, like merely 15 seconds. Cool eh? :D

I have yet to explore Faces and Places in iPhoto (among the new features) but I’m already deeply in love with it. Now the only problem that I’m having is, I don’t have enough nice photos to upload to Facebook. :/

Another Round of Hope.

March 12th, 2009

My ‘Pak Choy‘. It’s growing so far so good. I’m giving it 10-15 minutes sun bathe every morning. Two other cabbages and another ‘Pak Choy‘ also came out this afternoon. The lettuce still refuses to germinate though.

I hope they grow well this round. :)

I’m Back! I’m Back!

March 9th, 2009

After such a long while, I’m finally back in action.

So many things happened over the past one week. My life was all about editing, and editing, and rendering, and rendering for really a long while, along with all the other last minute requests from work. And then it was the weekend filled with fun and craziness - not the usual craziness that I enjoy, seriously. LOL!

It was one of my old friend’s wedding last weekend. A friend whom I’ve known for, erm, at least 20 years. She is the first among our (girl) friends who got married - this probably explains how weird our bunch of friends are. :P
The groom is one of our gang of friends too. And talking about the groom, he brought me the biggest surprise of the year so far on the first night of the wedding dinner. I was behind the reception counter checking out the guests when he waved at me and asked me out. He said he wanted me to meet his sister. I was like, OK… but why ah? And then my little brain started to process and thought perhaps all others have met his sister but not me. And then I was brought to this lady who smiled at me after being introduced with my real name, and said, oh hi the Muffin Baker!

What happened?! What happened?! OK I started to believe that she must be someone who happened to read my blog, OR who happened to have seen my crazy muffin attacks on Facebook. Until she said…

“I’m mh.”

What the H?!

mh?! mh?! mh?! I have been reading my friend’s sister’s blog for all these while?! And she has been reading mine for all these while?! mh, I’m seriously not being honest if I tell you I wasn’t shocked at all! LOL!

And the conclusion is, Shu-Yin (and the rest) you better stop blogging about me with my real name.  And another conclusion is, shit I’ll have to stop scolding at people in my blog from now onwards - my identity ‘terbongkar-ed‘! LOL!

And back to the wedding. Oh I love the band. Good interaction with the guests. Our table of friends actually shamelessly making themselves so comfy as if they (or we!) were attending concert or something. LOL! And then they started to drink, and drink, and drink, and, not knowing what happened to themselves later. -.- Me and darl and another old friend left quite early and didn’t witness what happened next but according to others who didn’t drink but stayed back, it was, let’s just that everything turned upside down. LOL!

**********

To the newly-wed (if you happen to read, since my identity ‘terbongkar-ed‘), congratulations! I’m sure the rest had a great time (super great time) entertaining themselves. And seriously, it was great! :)

Whoa!

March 4th, 2009

I’ve just realised that it’s been about a week since my last post. Gosh… what have I been doing lately???

Not really busy with work. Been working on something for an old friend’s wedding. Been baking muffins almost everyday. Oh and I have planted another round of vegetables. A little ‘pak choy’ just came out of the soil 2 days ago. Hopefully it works this time. :)
What else…

Been busy working to get our little business project works. Sales are coming in from time to time but I think we are ready to move further. Hopefully things turn out great. Fingers crossed…

Other than that, still happily living with my lazy bf and forever rebellious dog. :)

Muffins Attack!

February 24th, 2009

I noticed that I’ve been posting about muffins for… OMG continuously 3 posts already! I’m so sorry but the genius here is having such a HUGE muffins attack that she is almost baking everyday! >.<

And for today, we have Chocolate Chips Muffins. I have created a photo album on my Facebook, to show the muffins attack on me and also the chronicles of my muffin-making journey. Check out here. :D

How Good Are The Muffins?

February 24th, 2009

I baked another batch of muffins yesterday. This time, just basic ones with raisin. Everyone loves it even more - of course including the my niece, the number 1 fan. Darl a.k.a the Unofficial Muffin Professional gave 80 over 100 for them. :)
