Cooking My Hunger Away.
I’ve been craving for a good steamboat buffet for months. With DARL always being busy and things kept turning up at the last minute, we just couldn’t make ourselves to one. Finally yesterday, he made it a point to leave on time and I went picking him up, and then we both headed to Macalister Road, where the new big steamboat buffet restaurant located, just to realise that THE PLACE WAS CLOSED!!! !@#$%^&*()
DARL was calm enough this time and forced me into the car before I started mumbling about how unfortunate I was. Hehe. He drove me to another steamboat restaurant at Nagore Place, where we were once there a few years back - yeah I was never a steamboat fan but somehow I just wanted a nice one this time.
Restaurant Golden Steamboat Buffet (if I didn’t remember the name wrongly. :P)
The place was pretty packed with people when we arrived. The waiter/owner got us a place and we started helping ourselves with food. Yeah food food food!!!
Some Tim Sum to start. Ooo I like the triangle puff-kinda thing.
As usual, DARL got us a huge plate of beef. He always couldn’t have enough of beef. I wonder why… :/
Some regular steamboat materials… LOL.
And then one of my favourite, kepah. But the kepah here is not so fresh though… :/
Prawns. Notice I kept taking things in pair? One for me and one for DARL.
The satay was quite nice too, comparing to the regular stalls out there. Again, in pairs.
After this I was way too busy to snap photos. The dessert was nice too, with choices of jelly, drinks, fruits to dip into hot melted chocolate, and some tarts.
And DARL was still frying his beef… @.@
I insisted on having a half-half bowl of soup with the regular soup on one side and tomyam on another side. DARL was right, at the end of the day, we didn’t touch the tomyam at all. LOL.
We left at about 8:30 PM with an ice-cream in our hands. Tummy was totally FULL!
Oh and by the way, did I mention that it was Xiao Bi’s birthday yesterday too? We’ve thrown her a small celebration. Check out her small party here. ![]()

Hmm…..from the looks of the steamboat + food
Is it somewhere near town Bata shoe shop and directly beside Masjid Pakistan ? Where the steamboat charges people by height ??
I prefer steamboat anytime than BBQ , Rather eat something raw than having it over burnt

Ian: Got steamboat charges ppl by height one meh??? I thought only playgrounds charge kids by height…
Erm no I don’t think it’s the place you are referring to. This place is at Nagore Place, near New World Park. Yeah if I were to compare I prefer steamboat also.

Ya…the new steamboat. I recommend to all though.
If you below 100cm if I’m not mistaken , it’s free. For tall adults is rm17+ i think.
Got the most variety steamboat so far I seen. Got dim sum food also
New world park the one at 8 row ?
