PhotoHunt: Family.

October 17th, 2008

During my little niece’s first birthday a few months ago, many of the family members who were in town were invited. Most of them are from my mother’s family (her brothers, sisters, and kids), except for my grandma (my dad’s mum) from the mainland. Before we started eating, we set up a tripod and had a big, happy family photo.

If you ask me, I was more interested in the food at that time. Was so so so so so hungry. >.<

Happy Hunting everyone! :)

My Heavenly Tomyam (II).

October 15th, 2008

I just realised it’s been almost two months since I blogged about my favourite Tomyam in town! Gosh… Well it’s not that I didn’t want to blog about it. But I’ve never remember to snap good photos for this series of post. Hell… I remember nothing in front of those Tomyam-s. >.<

OK the next one. Still no good photos though. :D

This is from a stall situated in a hawker centre a.k.a food corner, Golden Sand Bayview, along Jalan Tanjung Bungah. It’s just right after Penang Chinese Swimming Club if you are coming down from Batu Feringghi.

I was trying to snap a clear photo of the stall but with no success. Well, if you are facing the main road (Jalan Tanjung Bungah), this stall is at the corner on your left. It’s a Thai food stall, and of course, they serve all sorts of spicy yummy-licious food. :)

The last time I was there was some time last week and I ordered a take away Tomyam soup with rice. You may also order instant noodle to go with the Tomyam if you like to. The portion is not really very big but the taste is awesome. With at least two prawns and some chicken/fish to go with, there goes my dinner in heaven. :)

Another food worth mentioning from their stall is fried squid. I’ll say it’s one of my favourites, although I haven’t been taking much squids lately… hmm… maybe I should go get some tomorrow. :D

Oh and before I forget, here’s a map to the place. If I’m not mistaken, this place only opens at night. And I promise I’ll try to snap nicer and clearer photos on the next heavenly post. :D

Pan-Fried Vege.

October 13th, 2008

With my previous successful pan-frying experience, I was so confident to do it again this evening when darl said that we should just cook our dinner tonight. I defrosted the lamb shoulder that we bought a few days back, and started looking for suitable vege to go with it. And I found tomatoes and carrot.

To be honest, I was kinda lazy to cook the vege. As I wonder how I could make my life easier, I decided to pan-fry them too. :D

I soaked, and washed, and cut them into pieces (for tomatoes) and slices (for carrot) while pan-frying the lamb. Once done, I threw the vege in the pan - OK la I actually turned off the gas and threw in, and then turned it on again. Scared la me! >.<

A few moments later, I’ve got this served.

It was good! :D Smelled good, tasted good too! Like you BBQ-ed them but with the fragrance of lamb.

But the lamb, on the other hand, wasn’t that good today. The slices we bought were just too thick and somewhere in the middle part just wouldn’t get cooked enough. :/ And to save our time, darl bought back the instant mashed potato… Lazy people. :D

P/S: On the side note, the little red *Updated!* feature on my blogroll hasn’t been working for a few days. Not sure why but it’s making my life miserable. Now I realise how much I have been depending on it to check on latest updated blogs. >.<

PhotoHunt: Lazy.

October 10th, 2008

I had to skip last week’s hunt due to my domain and hosting issue. I can’t wait to see everyone’s laziness this week! :D

My late Spitz mix, Snow White, was very lazy during the last few years of her life. You normally can’t find her running in the garden. Most of the time she was either sleeping, or just laying under one of our cars, doing nothing. She was much like an old lady - well, she was an old lady. :)

This was taken before we moved to our new house. That’s one of her favourite sleeping postures. I guess the wall and floor did cool her down under the hot weather. :D

Happy Hunting everyone!

P/S: On the side note, my iMac is still not back yet. The parts delivered DOA (dead-on-arrival), kononnya… It’s really killing me waiting for my work to get done on my humble little iBook! >.<

P/S II: Oh and I noticed that so many hunters thought Snow White was a cat! No no no she was a dog. :D A lazy dog! :D

When I Get Married.

October 9th, 2008

I believe many of you have experienced the same thing I’m currently experiencing. Being at this age - OK la I’m so close to 30 now - you’ll be receiving red bombs (wedding invitations) and questions like ‘when is your turn?‘. I don’t know about you, but my standard answer is always, I’ll get married when I feel like getting married. I mean, really thank you for asking but if I say don’t know, aren’t you just gonna bug me with the disadvantages of getting married late?

OK, so seriously, I don’t know. lol. I just don’t like to plan in such a way like, I’ll get married when I reach 35, or I’ll get married when I’ve earned 100,000K. I just prefer it to be, I’ll get married when my relationship is making me feeling like going to another stage. Oh and yes, it took me really long to consider a relationship. I never go into a relationship because I need a bf. I go into a relationship because I think this person is going to be my soulmate and will possibly be spending the rest of his life with me.

Nicely said… teehee. :P

Although I personally don’t quite fancy about wedding - you know, the preparations and the huge crowd of people that you probably haven’t even met for ages, I do have an ideal wedding in my mind, which, of course, will change and get modified from time to time.

No it’s not going to be a wedding dinner. It has to be a wedding party, preferably a high-tea buffet or something like that. Ideally at the beach but I’m not considering any of the packages from the hotels. And my wedding photos are going to be from a freelance wedding photographer (not too expensive la of course) whom I can work with to get the feel I want - yes la I’m very particular when it comes to the visual thingy.

And then, I’ll design and print my own invitation cards. I prefer simple and sleek rather than the bulky type of wedding gowns so mine are going to be custom-made, and I’ll probably be getting them on Etsy. Kekeke. Yeah I like a lot of the unique and one-of-a-kind designs from many of the artists and designers there!

What else…

No I’m not inviting someone that I don’t know. Those attending are going to be my close family members and relatives, and my good friends. It’s going to be a party + gathering. Jewelry and ring wise… I haven’t really thought about this and am not really that particular about this anyway, so I shall skip this at the moment. :D

Hmm… I think that’s all I have in mind at the moment. Photos of the exact moments will only be available when I’m getting married for real. lol.
