I Have A Dream.

November 6th, 2008

While everyone - well, at least those I know - is excited about Obama’s victory, I myself had been extremely busy with some last minute work, and worst of all, fell sick for a continous two days. Flu, very bad flu. And yet I was still sitting in front of the computer, working, working, and working. And my mobile phone became a hotline. Sigh…

Anyway. There are like thousands of articles on the internet, on how Obama has fulfilled the dream in the speech from Martin Luther King, Jr in 1963. Some of the key excerpts are really touched, and I particularly like this one:

“I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.’”

But can it be all creatures are created equal?

I recently had a few very unpleasant experiences with some people while walking Xiao Bi. Just for the record, I’ve always took the responsibility of clearing Xiao Bi’s poo when we walk. I would place a newspaper underneath and pack up in a plastic bag whenever she poo. I consider myself a rather responsible dog owner.

One morning when we were walking, together with Xiao Bi’s boyfriend, Bobby - yea she has a boyfriend - we walked pass a house nearby and suddenly I heard a sound from a lady yelling:

“Bullshit you!”

I looked around and I saw someone standing behind the window on the first floor of the house. I stared at her and heard someone in the house asking what the lady was doing. She answered:

“No, there is a dog.” And then she turned around and yelled again, “Bullshit you!”

I was so shocked at the moment that I couldn’t even respond properly. I looked at both Xiao Bi and her boyfriend. No they weren’t poo-ing or pee-ing. They were just sniffing around, walking, like what animals normally do. What? Do you expect everyone to jump or fly over your house when they pass by? I looked back at the lady and almost challenged her down for an argument. But I didn’t.

Yes it was very unpleasant, on how rude some people can be. I don’t want to generalise but the moment I told darl about the incident, his response was, “It’s an aunty, right?”

It’s Always Easier to Give Up.

November 4th, 2008

You know, sometimes one can get very tired on something. I’m referring to something like an issue that seems to be never-ending, despite of all the hardwork, talk, trying to be understanding, etc..

You know, like the classic drama of an innocent girl who fell in love with a boy who refuse to grow up. How much longer can the girl convince herself to continue holding on a promise and commitment that couldn’t seem to be fulfilled? Of course, this is just something that I made up to describe the situation.

You know, it’s just always easier to give up than to hold on. Like walking through the endless dark tunnel. Should I declare myself defeated and die in the middle of the tunnel or continue walking until I see the first light (if there is any)?

PhotoHunt: Blue.

October 31st, 2008

It’s been an extremely hectic week and finally, I could sit down and blog a little bit - well not really, since I’m actually photohunting. :)

Anyway, these two photos were taken about a week ago, during a company hike to Pantai Kerachut.

Here is a baby turtle under the covered big container.

And we met this eagle on our way back on the boat.

Happy Hunting everyone! :)

Fighting to Live.

October 27th, 2008

When everyone is working harder to earn more during this global economic down time, someone has been fighting, just to live.

About a year or two ago, my mum told me about a cousin of mine being diagnosed with a rare cancer, Mesenchymal Chondrosarcoma. Well, he is actually the son of my mother’s cousin. Mum updated us with his condition from time to time. Things got worse during the recent few months. The cancer struck back and he lost his right eye during a recent operation.

And that’s not the end of it. To undergo proton therapy as suggested by his doctors, he has to go to either China, Korea, or Japan as these are the only few countries equipped with this medical technology. The total cost of medical expenses goes up to RM120,000.

So the thing is, this is not a small amount of money. He has been on the newspaper appealing to the public for donation. You may read the articles here and here for more info.

There are many ways to help. If you are reading and would like to make a donation, please contact Datuk Michael Chong at 03-21618044, as shown in the above articles for donation. If you would like to write an entry in your blog, please also make sure to direct your readers to Datuk Michael Chong for donation. Please do not use my cousin’s condition to make fraud donation. If you are not sure, feel free to write to me.

Feel free to use the social bookmarking icons below to share this with others, or email this to your friends. Please help to spread this, and help my cousin, Kavern!

Quick Updates.

October 25th, 2008

I’ve been so extremely busy with work for the past one week that not only I didn’t feel like blogging, I was so lazy to blog hop at the same time, especially after my little UPDATED feature is gone. Sigh.

I do have plenty of photos to edit and post up for a few entries. But I don’t think I’ll have the time over the weekend either. There is a company hiking scheduled tomorrow, either up to Pantai Kerachut (again!) or Monkey Beach. That means I’ll have to finish my work today so I could hike and then come back and sleep for the rest of the day. :D

Oh btw, my forever rebellious GR, Xiao Bi, got an invitiation to her bf’s place to play for an evening. Hehe. See, even dogs could get invitations. :) I’m hoping we could bring her over tomorrow, and I’ll try to snap some photos or videos. It’s so much fun seeing two of them wrestling. :)

OK gotta work. >.<
