A Super Great Weekend!

I woke up early this morning, remembering that I had a few emails that I haven’t really read through. I had the impression that those were Twitter notifications or some similar emails, that I usually only check when I’m free.

But I was SO, SO, SO, SO, SO wrong.

I almost skipped an important email as I can’t relate the title of the email to myself. 1000 Ideas for Creative Reuse? What’s that?

Luckily I read, and OMG! Our work is being featured in a book! A book! And the title of the book is, of course, 1000 Ideas for Creative Reuse!

And then I remembered where this is coming from. It was early this year that I saw a post somewhere else calling for submission of related artwork to this book, by the author Garth Johnson, who runs Extreme Craft. It was so long ago that I thought we were not selected. And you know what’s the bonus? Our wallet is on the book cover!!! See the image up there? It’s the second item on top!

The book will be released on 1 November 2009 in the U.S, followed by other international versions. According to what I understand, our website links and contact info will also be available in the book, as well as on Garth’s website.

Cool? I think this is WAY TOO COOL!!! :D

P/S: The book is also available on Amazon. Go check it out if you are interested! ;)

When Your Dog Becomes Your Friend.

Our life with Xiao Bi wasn’t an easy one. She was so well-known for her rebelliousness since she was a puppy. She barked non-stop, she chewed on and broke doors, she ran out of the house to the neighbourhood as if she could fly. Oh and she even dragged me to a cactus bush once when we were out for a walk!

She is now 2 years +. It’s definitely amazing to look back and see what we’ve gone through together. The struggle, the pain, and the laughter. I still remember at one point I almost gave up on her – and I’m now glad that I didn’t.

I had a wonderful experience with her yesterday morning. I woke up feeling tired and sleepy, and thought I’d check both the dogs out from the window before I make them breakfast. I saw Xiao Bi lying near the window, so I ‘pssst’ her. She raised her head and looked at me. I asked her, where is Coco? Normally at this point, Coco would appear from nowhere. But she didn’t. So I asked Xiao Bi again, where is Coco?

She looked aside, stood up, and walked away. And then she brought Coco. Yes, she brought Coco. She was escorting Coco from another side of the yard to the window. I almost cried at that moment – She understood what I was saying! The feeling is amazing. What could be better when my forever-rebellious Golden Retriever turned into a friend who could listen and understand?

That made my day. :)

Xiao Bi, just after a long bath.
