More Coming.

Stack of recycled billboard sleeve case for MacBook and MacBook Pro, waiting to be completed.

Gonna put aside my painting for a while and work on these first. Otherwise someone’s eyes are going to roll over the cloud. ;)

The Man Who Make and Breathe His Work.

It was raining very heavily yesterday afternoon. We had to drop the plan of going over to my grandma’s place to bath Scooby. Wah continued working on some prototypes while wearing one on himself. I asked him why, as he carried it everywhere for a few hours. He said he wanted to feel it.

That Part About Reducing Waste.

Our main intention to start working and developing the coaster set was actually to fully utilise the materials that we already have. Just like any other sewing or crafting projects, there are always scraps or leftovers. Many of these pieces are too pretty to be thrown away, but yet too small to be made into regular work.

Some time last year when Wah and I had a conversation on how we can reduce or minimise waste in our working process, we jotted down several ideas, including this Valentine’s Day card, mini library card, and of course the coaster set. Some of the ideas still need more thought and work, while others are being turned into real work one at a time.

As for the coaster sets, after much arguments, we settled by using the canvas scraps for the extra moisture. These canvas scraps were ‘produced’ when we worked on the cases for MacBook and MacBook Pro.

The canvas scraps are being cut into small pieces and sewn together before being placed in between the banner pieces, to be sewn into a coaster. Yes it’s more work compared to buying new and ready-to-be-sewn materials. But we believe it’s essential for small business like ours to minimise waste, in any way possible.
